Easter 1923 (Aged 18)
I returned to Winchester on 17th January and was again up to Blore in VI Book B. The results shewn being Divinity 13/20, History 14/18, I also did Latin and Greek with him. He reports: “He shows huge intelligence and judgement in his answers in class, but his written work is hardly ever among the best. His gifts of expression are still backward and undeveloped. Has been working well from week to week and shows plenty of interest.Math k 1/19 Mr Hunter reports “very good, shows marked mathematical ability in dealing with a new subject and did an excellent exam”.French 9/19 Blore reports “has put in good work and made progress”.
