Easter 1916 (Aged 11)
I returned to Ludgrove on Feb 24th being very late because of chicken pox and travelled there alone.
I was up to Mr Stanborough for the 2nd time in Div II and came out 5th out of 13 with many absence owing to chicken pox mainly. He gave me a good report saying that I was attentive and worked cheerfully.
In Maths up to Mr Oakley I did not do so well which may have been partly due to my absence at the beginning of the half. I was 10th out of 14 in Div I and Mr Oakley was disappointed.
In French Mr Blore is satisfied with 5th out of 14 in Div II and Mr Brown says that I have always worked well at my History.
In Geography I was 2nd out of 10 up to Mr Blore, who says that I have done very good work.
Mr Smith reports that I have worked steadily and well and that he is quite satisfied.
It was a dull half, much spoiled by illness and we played no matches.
I entered with Tilney ma for the fives and we got through one tie. I was beaten in 1st ties in the racquets. Mother came down with Veronica.
