Geoffrey Lennard Hoare (born 10 Apr 1879) was the first son of William Hoare (of Staplehurst) and Lady Mary Marsham – thus a first cousin of Walter. He was Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery and was a managing partner at the bank. Educated at Eton, and like many of his cousins he played cricket – including playing in a remarkable match for the Eton Ramblers, in which the team was made up entirely of members of the Hoare family.
